The 2025 Spring Festival Gala of Dongsheng District took as its theme "The Sun Rises in the East to Greet the New Year · A Year of Beauty and Good Fortune," and comprised three chapters: "Gala Dongsheng, Celebrating Together," "Warm Hearts in Dongsheng, Love Fills the City" and "Blessings Fill Dongsheng, In Praise of the Northern Frontier." Through a rich variety of acts it showed the prosperity and vitality of Dongsheng District and conveyed the good wishes and joy of the New Year.
The gala opened with the grand opening dance "Splendid Chapter of Spring," the performers' graceful movement and energetic performance instantly setting the hall alight; the witty crosstalk act "Laughter and Cheer," the heartfelt singing of Guo Tao, young singer and Dongsheng culture-and-tourism star promoter, and fine renditions of the Peking opera pieces "Mu Guiying Takes Command" and "The Drunken Concubine" won rounds of applause and cheers from the audience.
In the second chapter, "Warm Hearts in Dongsheng, Love Fills the City," the magic act "Secret Realm" brought by Hu Linglong — fourth-generation intangible cultural heritage inheritor of the traditional magic Gucai Xifa and Gold Award winner at the 11th China Golden Chrysanthemum Award National Magic Competition — left the audience marvelling; the comedy sketch " <暖> The Man Arrives," presented by Wu Liping, chairman of the Inner Mongolia Dramatists Association and a noted performing artist, together with Wu Yanni and Li Gen, added a touch of humour to the gala; the atmosphere was extraordinarily warm, with applause and laughter throughout.
"Walk on, walk on, walk on and on, walk to the ninth of the ninth month; only at home is there freedom, only then the ninth of the ninth..." As the familiar melody rose, did it bring back the old days? On the Dongsheng gala stage, Chen Shaohua, the original singer of "Wine on the Ninth of the Ninth," made a surprise appearance and, with that familiar voice, led the audience back down that warm and unforgettable road of youth.
In the third chapter, "Blessings Warm Dongsheng, In Praise of the Northern Frontier," the song-and-dance number "Light, Shadow and Moon" enchanted the audience with beautiful singing and dancing; in the thrilling acrobatic act "Swan of the East," the performers' exquisite skill and seamless coordination made every movement gripping; the song "Shine" and the song-and-dance number "Great Love for the Northern Frontier" expressed deep affection for the motherland and brought the gala to a perfect close.
