Magic act The Grapes Are Ripe wins Gold

From 13 to 15 December, on the stage of the 3rd Hainan International Acrobatic Art Exchange Conference & 2nd "Golden Coconut Cup" International Youth Magic Exchange Show, Guzaliayi, a young performer of the Acrobatic Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theatre, made a dazzling appearance and won the Gold Award.

"The Grapes Are Ripe" fuses the distinctively Xinjiang grape-picking dance with card and ball magic, innovatively embedding grape props into the magic technique. The performer's technique and dancing are light and graceful, showing not only accomplished magic skill but also heightening the act's artistic appeal, so that it stood out among many fine acts. In June this year the act reached the final of the 12th China Golden Chrysanthemum Award for Circus Arts — National Magic Competition, and in November it took part in the 7th "Golden Magic Ring · Summit" Shenzhen Youth Magic Exchange at the 6th Shenzhen Magic Festival, winning second place in the stage category.

In 2024 the Acrobatic Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theatre reached an agreement with Ruxianguli — National Class-A Performer, Vice-Director of the Magic Art Committee of the China Acrobats Association, chair of the Shenzhen Acrobats Association and chief magician of Happy Valley Shenzhen — to carry out a second round of the flexible-recruitment programme bringing in experts to support Xinjiang, aimed at training magic talent and at creating and improving magic acts. Under Ruxianguli's careful guidance, Guzaliayi made marked progress. From digging deeply into artistic expression to strengthening the mental resilience needed for competition, Ruxianguli held nothing back and helped her advance in every respect.

Guzaliayi lived up to expectations, studying hard and integrating all she had learned. Under her performance "The Grapes Are Ripe" has kept growing richer and better, dazzling one competition after another, proving by results the effectiveness of the flexible-recruitment programme for experts supporting Xinjiang and showing the appeal of the magic art of the Acrobatic Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theatre.
